Cooking Food with Food

We’re sure you don’t usually think twice about what happens to your food waste,  but what if we told you it could be used to help you cook and grow more food?

Let us explain before you start judging. Some new company called Homebiogas just made a mobile machine that turns your food scraps into cooking gas and liquid fertiliser. You don’t have to plug it in to start it up as it depends solely on plenty of sunlight. It is able to churn up two to three hours of gas per day for all your cooking needs!

Well, don’t rush out to buy one just yet – unless you have a backyard, you may find it a wee bit too big for your HDB flat.

Road Work Ahead

Traffic jams in cities like Shanghai, Bangkok and Jakarta make our complaints about the extra 15 minutes we take to commute during peak-hours in Singapore sound petty. One company thinks it has a solution to make three-hour traffic jams in these cities more bearable. Here’s Red by Project Redscape – An electric car that doubles up as an office.

Need to finish up that project that’s due today? Swivel the driver’s chair around and fold-down the built-in desk. It also has a solar panel that generates enough power not only for your car, but all other electric devices such as laptops and phones. We’re wondering if it also comes with a coffee  machine.

Do you have a Light?

Nobody plans on getting lost in the woods, but when it happens, you’ll probably wish you had a more viable fire source than some wet matches. Maybe something like a “Star Wars” mini-lightsabre perhaps? Well, we found something just like that.

Saberlight Plasma Beam Lighter is a windproof, splash-proof, running-out-of-lighter-fluid-proof that sets objects ablaze quickly and efficiently thanks to an electrically generated plasma beam that burns hotter and cleaner than a butane flame.

The USB-rechargeable lighter ignites even in wet or windy conditions, and it can be used over 300 times on a single charge.
