SMEs: Sharpen your eCommerce skills

If you ask a businessman what’s booming in the Asian region of late, you’ll probably get an often-heard answer –eCommerce!

If you’re running a small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME), here’s your chance to get into the game.

There’s now a series of online and offline training courses developed by Southeast Asia’s leading eCommerce company Lazada Group.

The MOU Partners

Lazada joined hands with Nanyang Polytechnic’s Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS), the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), Singapore-based data analytics firm Sparkline, and the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) to develop digital-ready skills and tools to help businesses tackle the eCommerce boom.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on 29 March 2018.

What’s In Store

The bite-sized modules, accessible via the online learning system Lazada University , helps participants acquire deeper knowledge and skills in eCommerce quickly. There is a fee for the course.

For example, the “Cashing in cross border sales” run by SIRS is a 40 minute online course which allows participants to learn about global sales trends in Southeast Asia and China.

 The Target Group

More than 1,000 people ranging from existing and new sellers on Lazada, SME owners, professionals and managers are expected to complete the courses between April to December 2018. All participants need to do is to sign up for them.

All the courses are in English and they will be available on Lazada University’s new online learning management system which enables sellers to access training materials on their phones, making training more convenient and on-the-go.

Furthermore, Singaporeans above 25-year-old will be able to use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset two existing courses – “Getting started on Lazada (Onboarding)” and ‘Implement Innovative Change”.
