Phase 2 of Singapore’s reopening after the circuit breaker period is well underway. But clearly, COVID-19 has disrupted life as we know it. We must be prepared for the new normal.
According to the latest labour market report released by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on 15 June 2020, the country’s unemployment rate climbed to its highest in 10 years, with the jobless rate among Singapore citizens at 3.5 per cent.
The number of job vacancies has also declined. There are now only about seven jobs available for every 10 jobseekers.
But if you want to look at these facts from a glass half full perspective, there are jobs out there.
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are seven roles to consider if you are searching for an opening:
1. Safety Management Assistant (Preschool Centre)
If you enjoy working with young children, have a pleasant disposition with excellent communication skills, and are interested in frontline work, you might like this one.
