Whether you’re planning a holiday getaway, scheduling important family events or mapping out your annual leave, it’s never too early to mark down Singapore’s public holidays for 2027.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced the 11 gazetted public holidays for 2027, giving workers an early opportunity to organise their work and personal commitments.

Holiday Date Day
New Year’s Day 1 January 2027 Friday
Chinese New Year 6 February 2027 Saturday
7 February 2027* Sunday
Hari Raya Puasa 10 March 2027 Wednesday
Good Friday 26 March 2027 Friday
Labour Day 1 May 2027 Saturday
Hari Ray Haji 17 May 2027 Monday
Vesak Day 20 May 2027 Thursday
National Day 9 August 2027 Monday
Deepavali 28 October 2027 Thursday
Christmas Day 25 December 2027 Saturday
*Monday, 8 February 2027, will be a public holiday.

Among the dates to note are New Year’s Day on 1 January (Friday), Good Friday on 26 March (Friday) and National Day on 9 August (Monday), which naturally create long weekends without the need for additional leave.

Chinese New Year falls on 6 and 7 February. As the second day falls on a Sunday, Monday, 8 February, will be observed as a public holiday.

Workers can also look forward to several mid-week breaks, including Hari Raya Puasa on 10 March (Wednesday), Hari Raya Haji on 17 May (Monday), Vesak Day on 20 May (Thursday) and Deepavali on 28 October (Thursday).

Payment for Work Done on a Public Holiday

Employees covered under the Employment Act (EA) are entitled to 11 paid public holidays each year.

Employers and employees may also mutually agree to substitute a public holiday for another working day.

More information on public holiday provisions under the EA can be found at MOM’s website.
