From Government Budgets 2020

Financial Assistance

  • $9,000 across 9 months under the Self-Employed Person Income Relief Scheme (SIRS) [ 3 cash payouts of $3,000 in May, July and Oct ]
    NTUC will assist MOM in handling applications and appeals for SEPs who do not qualify starting 20 April More Details
  • $3,000 cash payout under Enhanced Workfare Special Payment, for workers who had already received Workfare Income Supplement payment previously in 2019 ($1,500 in July; $1,500 in October ) More Details

Training Assistance

  • $500 SkillsFuture Credit top-up for every Singaporean aged 25 and above
  • Additional $500 SkillsFuture Credit for Singaporeans aged 40 to 60

SkillsFuture Credits top-up will be automatic.

Tax Assistance

  • Deferment of income tax payments for 3 months (May – Jul 2020) More Details

From NTUC

Financial Assistance

  • For eligible union members:
    One-off payout of up to $300 under NTUC Care Fund (COVID-19)

Training Assistance

  • For eligible union members:
    $250 fee support per year from NTUC Training Fund (UTAP) More Details

Placement Assistance

  • For Singaporeans and PRs: 
    Tap on NTUC’s e2i services such as career trial, career coaching and skills workshops More Details

$84m Enhanced SEP Training Support Scheme

  • Extended to Dec 2020
  • Increased hourly training allowance from $7.50/hr (from 1 to 30 Apr 2020) to $10/hr (from 1 May to Dec 2020)

$4m from NTUC Training Fund (SEPs)

  • NTUC union members will get up to $1/hour more in training allowance from 1 Apr to Dec 2020! More Details
