Time to Pick Up Digital Skills?

Are you looking to get up to speed on digital skills?

We’ve got some good news for you – there is a new national programme to help you do just that.

The recently launched Digital Proficiency Programme, or DigiPro in short, aims to address the need for the local workforce, especially non-ICT trained professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) across all sectors to be digitally savvy and be up to date with new tech and digital applications for work.

The programme is part of a collaboration between the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), NTUC and NTUC’s e2i (Employment and Employability Institute).

It’s also supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Government Technology Agency (GovTech).

For a start, DigiPro will introduce training courses in four key areas – cybersecurity, business data and analytics, digital content creation, and branding your professional image in a digital economy.

These courses will also be included within the SkillsFuture Series initiative, which focuses on equipping workers with the skills required to stay relevant for the future.

What Courses to Expect?

Coming up in October, a modular course in business data and insights will commence at Temasek Polytechnic.

Later, in the first quarter of 2019, Republic Polytechnic will host the modules on digital content creation and branding your professional image in a digital economy.

According to SCS, the programme will continuously be updated to introduce new modules that will help PMETs embrace emerging tech areas that will have a significant impact on work efficiency and productivity.

When you complete each module, you will receive a nationally recognised certification.

If you’re interested in signing up for these courses, here’s a link to the SCS website where you can get more details.

Other than e2i, NTUC LearningHub has also been busy prepping our workforce for a digital future. Check out some of their efforts here:
