Jobs Bank Working Well

Replying to a question in Parliament last week, Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin said that more than 10,000 employers have also come on board and are actively posting job vacancies. There are over 65,000 jobs available on the Jobs Bank today.

Feedback from both employers and job seekers has also been positive, marking an encouraging start.

Launched in July this year, the Jobs Bank was intended to facilitate a fair hiring process and greater awareness of job vacancies available for Singaporean job seekers.

NTUC’s Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) Patrick Tay advocated the need for the Jobs Bank last year to better track employment market conditions, help PMEs (Professionals, Managers and Executives) find better jobs and match vacancies between employers and potential employees.

The Jobs Bank complements the Fair Consideration Framework that came into effect in August to give Singaporeans a fair chance at job opportunities.
